Macambus Cave & Macahambus Gorge

A drive from Barangay Lumbia crossing to the Macahambus Cave and Macahambus Gorge in Barangay Lumbia of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines. The cave is a short distance throug-cave. Meaning you go in one side and coming out at the other end. In this case high over the Cagayan river. If you are lucky you see down the white water rafters passing by. Just on the river water level are coming out the waters passing through the Macahambus gorge.

The Macahambus gorge is probably a sinkhole. Visitors have to be in good healthy conditions, they will have do go down on a steep steel ladder and not to forget, to come up also. Hahahaha! Inside the gorge the huminity is terrible. At one side where the water comes out, its dropping water from the rocks like it's raining. The ground is muddy and slippery but all worth to see this wonder of nature. There is a path to the other side, passing the creek and giant Molave trees to a fascinating view, where the water disappears again into the rocks. There are some steps to go higher up to another little cave. For sure this will make one sweat.

So, have some fun and enjoy it! Thanks to Roger Estares, who accompanied me in this hole of mother earth.
