WHY WE DON’T VISIT DIVISORIA AND COGON?

We have decided not to go to Divisoria for shopping any time of the day and not to go to the Cogon area in the evening all for one reason.

There is just chaotic traffic without any parking.

It’s easy for the city administration to paint yellow boxes and place every few metres a no parking sign, but they didn’t provide any designated parking areas.

It is just 6 pm at Cogon

The same is with the Cogon area. But someone has to wait for the real mess in the evenings when vendors block from four traffic lanes at least two or even more and pedestrians behave like they own the streets and banging on cars passing by.

If you see RTA-personnel, maybe in groups to palaver, but seldom on the crossings directing traffic.

There is a hotel in this area, it is at the moment the venue for the monthly meeting of the KNIGHTS OF RIZAL Cagayan de Oro Chapter.

But sorry, the place is not suitable for members who come by car and need parking. It is almost impossible to reach the street with the hotel without breaking traffic rules by not left-turning when you come from the east on J.R. Borja Street.

The hotel has a second parking area, but this is blocked by vendors at that time and not much easier to reach.

Everyone here is in my opinion very selfish, the businessman, the vendor, the city – all want to make money without any costs.

This time I had to park at Maria Reyna Hospital and to walk all the way, Fine with me, but not all of our members are fit to walk distances like that in a crowd with shoving and pushing.

So, they must not be wondering when people patronize big malls with ample parking space.
