Bayabas, beaches, Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, fish ponds, seaside
It was Sunday, April 24, 2022, and we first went to the mouth of the Iponan River in barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines. The area is called Bulua seaside. From the mouth, a narrow road, mostly dirt, leads to zone 8, to Baybay with Miramar Beach Resort, to end at the end of the road in Kiraba, already in barangay Bayabas. Here is also the end of the narrow land train. Over a pedestrian wooden bridge we reached the other side and surprised the children of a Sunday school with their religion teacher Annalisa. After that we had to take the long detour back to get to the other end of the fish ponds.
Plenty unknown beach resorts within the city of Cagayan de Oro frequenten mostly on weekends by the locals. Barangay Bulua has a headland between sea and fishponds, and barangay Bayabas has a lot of beach resort for the local population.
