PRESCHOOL in the WOODS

Across from our house, on the mountain road to Malasag, in Zone 9, in barangay Cugman of Cagayan de Oro City, Northern Mindanao, Philippines, an initiative of the young teacher Roxan with her asisstents Sunshine and Mimi, as well as the residents in the forest settlement, has established a temporary preschool for children from the area.

There are no costs for the parents of the children. The young people are financially supported by the local church IGLESIA NI CRISTO from the barangay.

Sponsors are being sought to provide food for the children during the break. During our visit to the preschool, an OFW from Hong Kong had taken over the costs for the snacks. Perhaps this will be an incentive for some birthday celebrants to do the same as the Hong Kong OFW did and give the children a treat.

In any case, we were able to spend some impressive hours here with the children in the forest.
