New Accommodation - Agutayan Villa "SOPHIERED HOTEL AND ONSHORE RESTAURANT" started in the middle of 2015 with the construction of the 120 meters long boardwalk with an onshore structure at the edge. The shallow waters of the shoreline made Mayor Redentor S. Jardin decide to construct this structure so the minimum required draft of 1.20 meters above the seabed level during low tides can be met for their SOPHIA EXPRESS to safely dock.
What began simply as a solution to provide for a docking area which is 120 meters away from the shoreline turned out to be a hit among visitors coming from Cagayan de Oro City and as far as Bukidnon because of its ambiance and the sumptuous food that the restaurant offers. It is the only one of its kind in Misamis Oriental, a restaurant in the middle of Macalajar Bay, that is why it is very attractive to visitors.
It opened for business in mid-October, 2016 with the opening of the three swimming pools, and the restaurant followed by the arrival of water sports facilities in the first week of December 2016. Many tourists also ply the Agutayan White Island using Sophia Express Banca.
The 20-room hotel building was constructed to cater to tourists and travelers alike who are taking the Cagayan de Oro City to Gingoog City-Butuan City route and vice versa.
