Large rice fields next to a road. No paths and certainly no roads lead into the rice fields themselves. In the settlements of the rice farmers who do not live directly on the road, there are also only paths, some of which can be driven on with a motorbike. Usually, however, there are only footpaths and simple little bridges between the houses, which often only consist of a few coconut palm trunks as a connection.

So everything has to be carried in or out to these small shops in the settlements in the rice fields.

We were with the people in the rice field settlements of VILLANUEVA. Villanueva is a coastal municipality in the province of Misamis Oriental, in Northern Mindanao.
