THE HUNT IS ON for 12 round Fruits
On every last day of the year, not only in Cagayan de Oro, Northern Mindanao, Philippines, the hunt for 12 round fruits, some say 13 fruits are needed, but experts say, it is not really important how many fruits, so long as there round fruits on the table on new year’s eve. It is believed that round fruits and other round things, like the round chiffon cakes or the round sweets in Philippine specialities are there to have a prosperous new year and money available all year round.
The streets around the market getting crowded with hawkers and vendors. Everybody is trying to make a little profit on this day. Come with me into the crowd for the hunt of 12 or 13 round fruits.
