Jeepneys going to the Hinterlands of Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon in Northern Mindanao

The Carmen Market in Cagayan de Oro City is not only an important market in the city, but also an important transport hub with overland jeepneys for agricultural products from the remote barangays of the city and the province of Bukidnon in Northern Mindanao.

The monstrous jeepneys, often with double tyres at the back and truck engines, still run on these routes. Not only are the jeepneys fully loaded with passengers and goods from the inside, but often the roofs are packed high as well. Here you can still find passengers sitting on top of the boxes and bags to save on the fare.

Those jeepneys are also used for the pure transport of goods. The terminal for these jeepneys is directly in front of the Carmen Market.
